iStat Pro gives you important cpu, memory, network, temperature, battery, etc. information about your Mac at-a-glance, from the Dashboard. It's every geek's friend. Whenever I sit down at a machine to check it out for someone, if iStat Pro isn't installed, I install it. It's free and sometimes, just looking at the "Uptime" statistic is heart warming.
